From 7 to 14 of June 2023 the 54th CISM World Military Sailing Championship took place in Faliro Bay of Piraeus with the participation of 9 countries, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Spain, France, Italy, Poland, Ukraine and Greece.
The program of the Championship opened on 9th of June 2023 with the tour of the athletes and their escorts to Trokantero where the trireme «Olympias» waited for them for a unique experience of sailing in the Ancient world and then they visited the Maritime Museum of Greece. On the same day in the afternoon, at 18:00, this was followed by the opening ceremony at the Naval School Cadets, with the presence of the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General Konstantinos Floros, who declared the start of the Championship.
From 10 to 14 of June 2023 followed 5 days with 35 races, where amazing sailing battles took place and the crews did their best in order to be able to overcome their opponents.
The end of the games found the Brazilian team winner at first place, Greece at second place and Italy at third.
On 14th of June 2023, at 20:15, the closing ceremony took place in the premises of the Yacht Club of Greece, with the presence of Deputy Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, Vice Admiral Frankiskos Leloudas.
