Gary King has confessed to being jealous after learning of Daisy Kelliher passionately kissing Colin Macrae on the new season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht.
Viewers were thrown for a loop when the series four trailer unveiled the surprising boatmance – which came after the chief stewardess embraced the bosun in steamy hot tub scenes last year.
Ahead of the episodes premiering on April 10, Gary spoke of the scenes in a new interview, admitting he found the love triangle ‘a little bit strange’.
‘I’d say to a certain extent I was a bit jealous. Having hooked up with Daisy, we do have a connection regardless of whether she denies it or not,’ he said.
‘And I think anyone in this world will be a bit jealous if they see the person that they’ve got a connection with hooking up with someone else. I mean, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t jealous.’
When asked about his comments in the trailer, suggesting that Daisy kissed the chief engineer to be ‘spiteful’, he explained that it was his ‘first impression’.
‘But then I came to find out that there were feelings involved. So the best thing that I could do is just be supportive of them. And as a friend — if another girl chooses someone else over me — I’ve just got to be supportive of it. And I hope I was,’ he continued to Us Weekly.
Despite the kiss, Gary refused to rule out the possibility of a relationship with Daisy in the future.
‘I speak to Daisy quite a lot and the problem is we are always so far away from each other. Our lives are in very different stages at the moment, but I’m definitely keeping that door open,’ he added.
‘You never know what could happen. I won’t say that it’s not going to happen. There is definitely chemistry between us so I’m quite excited to see what the future holds.’
In the bombshell teaser for the season, fans saw the moment that Daisy and Colin got very close on board, before another clip appeared to show them climbing into bed together.
The head of the interior team reflected on the new episodes in a chat with E! News, admitting that their tryst threw a ‘spanner in the works’.
‘It definitely puts a bit of a spanner in the works and challenges all of our friendships: my friendships with the boys, the boys’ friendship with each other,’ she said.
‘I don’t know why it gets complicated, but it does. I guess that’s what happens when you start making out with all your work colleagues. It definitely leads to some interesting conversations.’
‘I was annoyed,’ she added of Gary’s reaction. ‘I was a bit frustrated that Gary was making things, once again, about him. It was like, “You know I can have my own life and it not be about you?” So for me it was a little frustrating.’
Below Deck Sailing Yacht premieres on April 10 on Bravo.
