Today we sailed from Nanny Key to Trellis Bay. We had a calm morning with a breakfast full of bacon and eggs. We departed the docks at 10 am after a little bit of shore time for the kids to have more experience around a large dock. As we departed we put up sails after motoring for a while until a crazy squall came in. It was pouring rain while we were picking up a mooring ball. This created a challenge for us as we could barely see 20 feet in front of us. But Palilu loves the challenge!. We also ended it with something fun, a dance party in the rain, and a scream circle after getting the mooring ball. Once we got to Trellis the kids got shore time at Trellis Bay and at a famous store called Aragorn’s. Aragorn is an artist that creates custom jewelry and T-shirt’s, and many Sail Caribbean students and staff members found his art quite beautiful and chose to purchase one of his gifts. We then took ocean showers and got dressed up for the Sushi night ashore! There was music, soda and lots of sushi and other yummy food that the kids didn’t have to make on the boats! Trellis is a super fun place for the kids and we hope they enjoyed their time here after a crazy and fun day of sailing. We ended the night with a beautiful sunset and boat meeting where we played “hot seat.” Tomorrow will be another fun day in the Caribbean!
