On July 26th, campers woke up at Anegada and enjoyed a breakfast buffet of cereal, bagels, and yogurt before setting sail for Marina Cay. Campers are really getting the hang of running the ship, doing pre-departure checks, and raising/lowering the sail.
After around 3 and a half hours, we motored through the cut between Scrub Island and Great Camanoe and picked up a mooring ball. A squall passed through, so we all took shelter inside and made loaded mac-and-cheese with toppings such as hot dogs and barbecue sauce.
Campers on Jelliblu had fun swimming with those on Somoa, which was moored right off Jelliblu’s stern. We then jumped into dinghies and got shuttled over to West End Bay to snorkel! We swam around here for a bit and saw some really cool fish! It was then time to head back to the boats for showers and dinner prep. We made Mediterranean bowls for dinner consisting of quinoa, chickpeas, hummus, and veggies. At 7:30 pm, we consolidated to two boats for a night of Sail Caribbean Jeopardy.
Three staff from the staff boat arrived dressed as Steve Harvey and amped up the energy. Campers competed on teams with their boat in categories such as Sail Caribbean lingo, staff boat fun facts, sailing terms, and local island knowledge.
It was a super fun night! Stargazer defended their home territory, scoring the most points, while Somoa scored bonus points for team spirit as they all came dressed in button-up shirts (shoutout to Milo, who brought all 11 of them!)
