Day four was a memorable one here on Delta! We departed Cooper Island after a fun two nights, and headed to The Bight, at Norman Island. While some people sailed on S/Y Polygala and S/Y Aegnor, some of us had a chance to take the Colgate 26s over on our own! One way or another, we all had a chance to enjoy the beautiful sailing day here in the channel (but, let’s be honest, every day here is perfect for ideal sailing conditions). We worked on our sail-raising, points of sail, and jibing skills. Our ASA and non-ASA students alike are bettering their skills every single day!
After we picked up mooring balls at The Bight, we got to hop in the water and cool ourselves off. We also piled onto S/Y Aegnor and went over to Treasure Point to snorkel some caves and enjoy the scenery. Meanwhile, we had our DSD divers ashore to see what life is like beneath the sea surface! Made for an awesome afternoon.
We went back to The Bight and caught our mooring balls again for dinner prep time. We made pasta with pasta sauce and talked about our days with one another. During boat meeting later in the night, we played Rose, Bud, Thorn, and filled out our daily captain’s log. We have all students on board involved in this fun little activity every night. We go over things like daily events, memorable moments, miracle moments, and ‘quote of the day’!
Stay tuned as today, July 21, we head to Village Cay, Tortola.
