Banff Sailing Club is taking part in the Royal Yachting Association's Discover Sailing event and is inviting members of the public to take to the water on its boats for free.

The group is holding its open day on Saturday, May 20 at Whitehills Marina, where its boats are temporarily based while the Banff Harbour repairs continue.

The event will take place from 10am until 3pm and anyone interested in trying sailing and taking up the sport should attend.

Helen Robbins from Banff Sailing Club said: "This event is open to adults. Older and teenage children should be accompanied by an adult.

"It is free and a great opportunity to try a new activity and enjoy some time on the water in beautiful Banff bay.

"You will also be able to meet members of Banff Sailing Club and find out more about us and what we do.

"It would be helpful if people could let us know they are interested in attending, so please contact secretary@banffsailingclub.co.uk or Facebook direct message to let us know they are coming and also if they have any questions.
