Ken and Cheryl Pfeiffer of Grafton will discuss their 17-month, 4,500-mile sailing voyage at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, at the Old Bakery Beer Company, 400 Landmarks Blvd., in Alton.
The couple and their dog, Critter, took their 40-foot long trawler, “Turn The Paige,” on “The Great Loop” around the eastern half of the U.S. They will discuss their observations about environmental issues, such as barge traffic effects, pollution and shoreline degradation.
The event is hosted by the Piasa Palisades Group, Sierra Club. People are invited to have dinner and meet the Pfeiffers at 5 p.m. or join their program at 6:30 p.m either in person or via Zoom. To register go to the Events calendar at https://www.sierraclub.org/illinois/piasa-palisades
