Smooth sailing for unbeaten Ledyard boys

Ledyard — Jacob Lenz won the 100 meters and the triple jump Wednesday as the Ledyard High School boys’ track team remained unbeaten with a 111-39 win over Stonington in Division II of the Eastern Connecticut Conference.

Jackson Poulton won the shot put and discus for the Colonels (4-0, 3-0) while Lenz, Poulton, James Green and Roan Fothergill combined to win the 4×100.

Hagen Drake won the 300 hurdles and triple jump for Stonington (3-2, 0-2). Stonington’s Josh Mooney (shin splints) did not compete.

In other meets:

• East Lyme beat Norwich Free Academy 103-47 in an ECC Division I meet. Shawn Henning, Brendan Fant, Thomas Matlock and Matt Leone were double-winners for the Vikings (3-0, 2-0). Henning won the 100 (11.3) and pole vault (10-0), Fant won the 800 (2:04.8) and 1,600 (4:46.5), Matlock took the shot put (54-0) and discus (136-5) and Leone won the 110 hurdles (16.4) and 300 hurdles (42.6). NFA is 0-2, 0-2.

• Montville beat Plainfield 83-67 in an ECC Division III meet. Dylan Horkey won the 800 (2:08.4) and 1,600 (5:10.5) and Adam Sheridan won the 100 hurdles (19.2) and pole vault (7-6) for Montville (5-1, 2-0), which also beat St. Bernard 93-17. Kolby Quinn of St. Bernard won the high jump (5.2), long jump (18-8.75) and triple jump (38-11).

Girls

• Leah Comeroski and Magda Carpenter won three events each as Lyman Memorial beat Putnam 123-13 in an ECC Division IV meet. The Bulldogs (4-1, 2-0) also beat Parish Hill 122-18. Comeroski won the 100 (13.0), long jump (15-3.5) and triple jump (32-7) and Carpenter won the 800 (2:38.9), 3,200 (12:57.8) and high jump (4-6). Gabriela Dinisoe of Lyman won the 100 hurdles (18.5) and pole vault (9-6).

• Linda Holeman won the 300 hurdles and the javelin as Ledyard defeated Stonington 117-33 in ECC Division II. Ella Stephenson won the 200 and 400 for Ledyard (4-0, 3-0) while Kate Littler won the 800 and 1,600 and Adelaide Culligan won the 100 and 300 hurdles. Peyton Vanderstreet won the 3,200 for the Bears (2-3, 0-2).

• Tiana Bamber and Isabel Northrop won two events each as Montville beat Plainfield 104.5-35.5 in an ECC Division III meet. Bamber won the 100 (12.9) and 200 (28.5) and Northrop won the 100 hurdles (17.6) and 300 hurdles (53.6). Payton Lowe of St. Bernard won the discus (105-9) and shot put (31-0).
