Ahmedabad: The top four seeds in the boys and girls singles enjoyed a smooth sailing into the pre-quarterfinals of the J30 Ahmedabad ITF World Tennis Tour at the Ahmedabad City Tennis Foundation (ACTF) courts on Tuesday.
Vraj Gohil, the top seed in the boys singles, eased past Dreek Saha 6-2, 6-2 in the second round. Second seed Samarth Sahita defeated Kanishk Jetley 6-1, 6-4 while third seed Smit Patel edged past Parth Deorukhakar 7-6(9-7), 6-2. Fourth seed Vatsal Manikantan beat Ayan Shetty 6-2, 6-3.
Other winners in the boys’ section include Tanishq Jadhav, Aniketh Venkataraman, Tanay Mukesh Sharma, Pranav Korade, Naishik Reddy Ganagama, Tavish Pahwa, Dhruv Sachdeva, Mahit Mekala, Daksh Kukreti, Praneel Sharma, Anurag Shourya Kallambella (IND) and Aum Parikh.
Prisha Shinde, the top seed in the women’s category, thrashed Devashree Mahadeshwar 6-2, 6-1 while second seed Amodini Naik bounced back after losing the opening set to defeat Nirali Padaniya 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.
Third seed Janvi Asawa thumped Siya Patel 6-1, 6-3 while fourth seed Priyanka Rana of USA outclassed Devanshi Gohil 6-1, 6-0 in a one-sided encounter.
Pehal Kharadkar, Anushka Bhola, Sree Syleswari Velmanikandan, Saily Prashantkumar Thakkar, Kashvi Sunil, Ishi Maheshwari, Avani Chitale, Ruma Gaikaiwari, Yashika Shokeen, Harshini Nagaraj, Shaivi Shaivi Dalal and Mehak Kapoor were the other winners in the girls’ section on the day.
